• Hot, hot, hot today. Temps in the low to mid 90s
• Heat advisories are up for heat index >100
• Chance of thunderstorms this evening with damaging winds and hail possible
• Short range guidance suggest storms in the city around 7-9pm

NWS forecasted high temperature for today, mid 90s for most but some relief down the shore

NAM/short range models show heat index over 100

Water vapor imagery shows a disturbance to our northwest over the Great Lakes. This will slide into our area today and trigger thunderstorms

NWS has us in an elevated risk for thunderstorms this evening

NAM suggests storms get to Philly later on in the evening. NAM is a little more aggressive with it than some models. Best chance for strong to severe storms is in NEPA to Long Island.
