- Warm and muggy
- Chance of showers/storms later today
- Active weather pattern overall
Surface Chart
Low pressure remains off the coast this morning. This is the same disturbance that caused the rain Saturday night. It will be the trigger for showers and storms this evening too.

High Temperatures
We should get close to 90 degrees unless you get caught in the storms this afternoon.

Forecast Models
Most of the action is coming from the upper levels of the atmosphere. Here we take a look at 500mb (15000 ft) and see a small closed circulation on Long Island which will enhance cyclonic flow in E PA and NJ this evening, which I highlighted in purple. Towards the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley is a mid-level trough and that will result in showers and storms for W. PA later this evening.

The NAM has several bouts of storms today as the day time heating will enhance the instability and allow for thunderstorms to pop. Nothing severe is expected, but soaking rains and minor flash flooding are possible.

This type of activity continues into the overnight hours for the area and you can see a stronger and more organized line entering W. PA. Most of this activity fizzles by early Tuesday morning.
