2/17 Weather Brief

  • Warm temperatures today
  • Some gusty winds as the day goes along
  • Heavy rainfall to our west

Surface Chart

Currently on the surface map we see large area of low pressure extending from the Ohio Valley to the south. This is going to be a slow moving front during the day. Expecting 2″+ of rain towards our west.

Hugh Temperatures

Most of the area will be much above average. In the city we could approach 65 degrees. Even up by Scranton it could reach 60.

Expected Rainfall

Northern and Western PA are in for a long day of rainfall. Towards SEPA, some showers and maybe a brief period of steady rain, mostly later tonight like after 8pm.

Winds

Pressure gradient will be a bit tight around the cold front and strong low level jet at 850mb will push through the area. As a result, wind gusts could reach 30-35 in some rainbands.

That’s all for now!
